Civil Engine v1.1: More realism, smoother workflows, better-looking exports

The first patch update for Civil Engine is here

On August 14, 2025 we rolled out Civil Engine v1.1 – a feature-packed update that sharpens realism, streamlines day-to-day work, and delivers higher-quality renders for your transportation and civil site projects. From new assets and presets to deeper export options and rendering controls, v1.1 focuses on the details that help you move faster and ship visuals you’re proud of.

What's New

  • New assets: The asset library as been expanded with Zicla-style traffic calming elements, a large library of bridge components, more retaining walls segments. New dynamic assets include an animated “CTA-style” train that can be applied to paths as moving traffic, and a new Dynamic Video asset allows you to import video files into your scene – great for electronic billboards or drive-in theaters.

  • Smarter workflows: You can now export and import your customized Paths & Areas as presets (via a new .bcpr filetype). Plus, we’ve moved the in-model Dynamic Asset editable parameters into the left-side Details panel for easier and more intuitive asset edits.

  • Better video rendering: We’ve added more output formats, fixed some bugs related to .mp4 color swaps and empty 8K renders, and implemented new in-render quality controls for LODs, shadows, and Nanite.

  • Explore Mode upgrade: Now you can use a basic steering wheel in Explore Mode for more immersive driving demos.

  • Stability & polish: There are tons of additional minor fixes across importing, path spacing, traffic simulation, and dynamic asset behavior.
